Johannesburg, South Africa; 11 February 2016: Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment and communications group, today confirmed that the 9th annual Ai CEO Infrastructure Summit will take place in Johannesburg on 9-10 May 2016. The Summit is a unique business development forum for African pension and sovereign wealth fund leaders to review infrastructure investment strategies and co-investment opportunities.
The Ai Summit will bring together Africa’s leading public and private project developers and government sponsors to engage institutional infrastructure investors, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds on both listed and unlisted infrastructure investment opportunities.
Sovereign wealth and pension fund leaders will be presented with a number of investable infrastructure projects that centre on African priority sectors, namely ICT, Transport, Water and Energy. The Summit will showcase the best projects that Africa has to offer and create real platforms on which to foster economic growth through infrastructure investment.
Commenting on the Summit, Hubert Danso, CEO and Vice Chairman of Africa investor, said; “This unique, long-standing Ai CEO Infrastructure Investment Summit was conceived by Ai and the leaders of Africa’s leading African pension and sovereign wealth funds specifically as a forum to share transactions and market infrastructure co-investment opportunities. We are delighted that the event continues to grow significantly year on year and that the Summit now leads the market in providing a unique platform for infrastructure investors to engage project developers, financiers and government leaders on transformative infrastructure investment projects.”
The first day’s invitation-only CEO-level Summit, the Ai CEO Infrastructure Project Developers Summit, will be dedicated to project developers and will showcase a range of project co-development opportunities and industry-related issues. The second day, the Ai CEO Infrastructure Investment Summit, will convene African pension and sovereign wealth funds and institutional infrastructure investors to share and explore vetted investment opportunities and participate in a series of one-on-one investor meetings facilitated by Africa investor throughout the day.
The Summit will also host the prestigious 2016 Ai Infrastructure Investment Awards ceremony. The Ai Awards are a platform for investors in Africa’s fast-growing infrastructure sectors to measure and recognise their performance and achievements globally. The Ai Awards showcase the competitiveness of African infrastructure as an internationally investible asset class. Awards will be presented to African pension and sovereign wealth funds for their infrastructure investment initiatives.
